The location, size of the house and a/c was great. Our two major gripes are the lack of maintenance and cleanliness of the house. I was the first of our group (of women) to arrive, so after picking up the keys from L&F, I went to the house- and was horrified to find the key to the deadbolt in the front door. It was either left by the previous occupants or by the cleaning service. The doorknob of the pool-level door was so loose, that was half falling off. Also, almost half of the first floor windows were left unlocked. I was disgusted with the lack of care to ensure safety of the house… and of renters!
As mentioned by another reviewer, the MBA shower door leaked and and there are major filter problems with the pool. The pool was so filthy that you can see the cloud of dirt on the bottom– no one used it. Also, the grill was so filthy and rusty that we didn’t use that either. It has been two years since the 2013 review. One would have naturally expected these issues to be resolved.
Overall, the house needed a good cleaning. The air vents were caked with dust (e.g. above thermostat) and the bathtubs/shower floors had a film of grime. We spent the first hour just wiping everything down. The Lysol wipe was literally dark gray after wiping down the banisters. We were less than thrill to have to clean.
Granted our stay was at the end of the summer, but, we did not pay to rent a dirty house. It doesn’t take much effort to fix these problems!
