Vacation Planning Tips

With thousands of vacation rental choices, it’s more important than ever for vacationers to understand the options available to them, and how to choose the right property.

1. Book with Long and Foster

Properties come in all shapes and sizes, from single family homes to condominiums ranging from an efficiency unit to 12 bedroom properties. All of our properties offer photos, many offer video tours, amenities and guest reviews, and a rental coordinator is trained to assist vacationers with locating a suitable property. Vacationers find value in renting from Long & Foster and the assurance of a reputable company serving them nearby – think concierge services, an emergency contact to call 24/7 and professionally cleaned properties.

2. Pay attention to Amenities

Confirm with the rental coordinator what amenities are included in the rental property to plan more efficiently. Will you be bringing your linens and towels or utilizing the Long & Foster linen program? Will the bedding match your family needs? Does the property have a pool, game room or fitness room?

3. Before Booking

Evaluate past guest reviews, property description together with photos and videos of individual properties.

4. Lodging Agreements

Review the terms and conditions of the lodging agreement. If you have questions contact your rental coordinator.

5. The Payment Process

Depending on the date of arrival your signed lodging agreement and rental deposit will be due within ten days or less of your reservation. If your arrival is within 30 days of the time you make your reservation the entire rental amount and lodging agreement will be due immediately. Long & Foster accepts Visa, MasterCard, AMEX and Discover credit cards with on-line and telephone reservations.

6. Check out our ways to save on LFVacations.com

Each location offers exclusive discounts on our rental homes. Also, Long & Foster provides a discount to active duty military personnel; discuss this with your rental coordinator.

7. Meal Planning

Ask about and visit our area farmer’s markets, and use local ingredients / recipes for more memorable mealtimes. With full kitchens, and sometimes outdoor grills, vacationers can prepare meals and snacks for less. Plan to stock up from the local supermarket your favorite cereal, sandwich fixings or easy dinner staples, rather than spending hard-earned vacation dollars on full restaurant meals several times a week.
