Great location

The home was welcoming from the start and had been newly decorated with fresh paint and new carpet as well as newly renovated bathrooms. It was spacious and well equipped with beach paraphernalia, although it would have been nice to know that ahead of time so we didn’t have to pack chairs, umbrellas, beach toys, etc. with us. Location was perfect with access to the private guarded beach literally just steps away. I think this home was on the market and sold just a couple of months prior, which explains the fresh paint, carpet, etc. I am sure the new owners will want to do some renovations of their own once the season is over, especially updating some of the furniture and in the kitchen area. The appliances were probably original 1990’s and the microwave, for example, had a broken handle, no turntable and took 3-4 minutes to boil a cup of water. The pantry was locked so we had stack a week’s worth of groceries for 10 people on the bookshelves! One issue potential renters should be aware of is that it is advertised as having a community pool. Well, strictly, yes, but in practice no. The pool is in Ocean Ridge West, which is the other side of Route 1. This very busy 4 lane highway is the main coastal route from Rehoboth down to Ocean City and the beach resorts. There is no pedestrian crossing and you take your life into your hands if you want to chance running across. Don’t even try with a 4-year old in tow! You can’t even drive to the pool as the gate fob provided is for the pedestrian gate only. We didn’t use it one time during our stay.
